This page lists  part numbers and suppliers for the components required to make a complete, fully-supported screw driven axis.


The drawing above shows only the elements for the combined thrust/radial bearing, which should be mounted near the motor end of the extrusion.  The other bearing block only supports the screw radially, and is not shown in the drawing.  However, the only component required for this bearing block is an extra 1/2" radial ball bearing, and this extra bearing is reflected in the quantities of parts listed below.

1.  Shaft Coupler.  MSC 87856480 Qty 1
    Required if using part 6, below.
2.  1/2" ACME Screw -- any pitch.  McMaster Carr. 98940A901, 98940A629, 98940A623, 98940A627.

3.  1/2" Thrust Washer.  MSC 03381076  Enco 891-4802  Qty 4
4.  1/2" Needle Thrust Bearing.  MSC 03380904 Enco 891-4795 Qty 2
5.  CNCRouterParts Bearing Block, complete with radial bearing.  Online Store Qty 2
6.  1/2" Drill Rod (optional, but helpful to maximize useable screw length).  You cut to length.  MSC 06010326  Enco 409-0029 Qty 1
    Note: If using high pitch ACME, the needle bearings can slide into the threads without this.  It's highly recommended.
7.  Lovejoy Connector (3 parts).  MSC 35407022 (1/2"), 
35407006 (1/4") OR 35407014 (3/8") depending on your motor,  35407097  (Spider).  Also available from Enco. Qty 1 of each.
    You will need a 1/2" hub for your screw / drill rod, a spider, and another hub sized to your motor.
8.  CNCRouterParts ACME anti-backlash nut.  Make sure to match pitch with screw pitch.  Online Store Qty 1
